Did You Know?
Stonewall Quarry Park sits on the site of a former limestone quarry that operated for more than 80 years. Beginning in the 1880s, workers mined limestone here and burned it in large kilns to produce quicklime used in plaster and construction. When the quarry closed in 1968 after the limestone supply ran out, the town transformed the site into an 80-acre park. Today, visitors can explore historic kiln ruins, walking trails, lakes, and one of Manitoba’s top baseball complexes.
